The version of me sitting on this beach with crystal bowls and sacred strings, she was built in silence and solitude. In rooms where I had to shrink. In seasons where I questioned everything I thought I knew about myself.

Maybe you know that kind of darkness too.

The one where you kept showing up anyway. Where you held it together on the outside while something inside you was screaming to be set free, acknowledged and validated.

That’s the initiation nobody talks about and it starts with your own yes and sometimes without everyone seeing you answer the call

The bowls know. The strings know. The water knows. And now, so do I.

For a long time, I thought self-abandonment was maturity.

I thought it was strength to override my body.

To make myself smaller so other people could stay comfortable.

I thought independence meant needing no one.
I thought resilience meant feeling nothing.
I thought being desired was safer than being honest.

But isolation isn’t power.
Numbing isn’t neutrality.
And shrinking isn’t humility.

They are nervous system strategies.

Self-abandonment isn’t weakness.
It’s what happens when safety feels conditional.

When love feels earned.
When approval feels like oxygen.
When speaking up once cost you connection.

At some point I had to ask myself:

What if the most dangerous thing wasn’t loving the wrong people…
but leaving myself every time it got uncomfortable?

Self love didn’t begin with bubble baths or affirmations.
It began the day I stopped negotiating my own discomfort.
The day I listened to the tightness in my throat.
The day I honored the knot in my stomach.
The day I made myself the priority.

That is the work.

And that’s what we practice inside The Self Love Portal.
Learning to feel safe enough to stay.

Now you get to choose differently.

For a long time, I thought self-abandonment was maturity.

I thought it was strength to override my body.
To swallow my words.
To make myself smaller so other people could stay comfortable.

I thought independence meant needing no one.

I thought being desired was safer than being honest.

It’s no coincidence my body asked me to slow down and integrate…in the form of a cold.

After days of adventure, prayer, temple offerings, healing sessions, meditation, and celebrating love/life after everything opening and expanding inside me my body said, “Girl… it’s time to rest.” Or in my mom’s voice: “Sit down somewhere.”

Being sick isn’t punishment, even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s often the reset because the body has to adjust through rest and recalibration.

Old me would’ve powered through, minimized it, refused help, felt guilty and convinced that my body was betraying me.

This time was different because:
I stayed in bed without resistance
Did nothing without guilt
Nourished myself without trying to fix anything
Let the integration happen.

After praying in the waters and offering, it felt fitting because water renews, cleanses, restores and the body remembers.

Grateful for this vessel that carries me across oceans, temples, timelines and always knows exactly how to bring me home.

This afternoon was filled with healing, laughter and beautiful conversations around recalibrating, awakening, receiving and becoming. Just a moment of gratitude for how far I’ve come and the alignment I’m walking in.
